Thanks for sharing! I am bit short of wheel clearance, do you think that adding the ALK and the camber bushes will push the wheel even further out? I already got them but not sure if it is wise to install them.
Had this issue tried this trick but have now rounded off this bolt too Not sure if it’s dead tight or if it was fault of my own (more than likely) Any ideas of where to go from here?
The key is drilling deep enough to get it to bite, but not deep enough to hit the bolt taper seat. Maybes try drilling a little deeper. After that you can get torx rescue bits which are torn but have additional teeth on them which do also work.
Does it need coding when replacing it or it’s just plug&play?

INA is the OE manufacturer (depending on Model Year) or Pierburg and they're both just under $30U.S. The "VW" stamped cramp is just mark-up. As long as you're not buying a Standard version or from EBAY, or Amazon you're good with anything FCPEuro offers on their site.

My mk7 is making a loud clacking noise. Its intermittent. No codes on the dash. When i rev the engine it will stall it. When i first start it up it doesnt clack, then itll clack once, a couple times, then constant clacking. Sometimes when i let the clutch out it just dies right away. But the noise is coming from the passenger side where the belts are. Checked all the coils, checked the oil filter no metal, checked the ac compressor. I unplugged the intake magnet and it didn’t change anything. I wonder if unplugging the magnets is a good way to diagnose it

Hey mate quick question. When you put on the CAI you capped that small hole on the inlet pipe to the turbo and now it has a pipe running to it. What’s the pipe now running to it? Love the build! Cheers.
Hey! It's for the diverter valve which is mounted in a different place on a k04. Originally the car had a k03hybrid so the doverter was on the turbo. The k04 has it mounted on the boost pipe before the throttle body and the link pipe.

Hi @DecimalTenths I changed my chain and tensioner last weekend (INA set) my readings before were -3/-4 after changing the set now it is on -2. BTW I used your video as a guide. visually when everything was mounted the chain looked exactly like yours. I was hoping to get to 0. However, when doing a cold start I can still hear some very short chain rattle for a tiny bit of a second. is the tensioner maybe faulty even if new? best regards
Hi there, -2 is an OK measurement. It's common on the non oem kits like INA to have some tolerance. The tensioner is oil fed so drop your sump and clean out your pickup to ensure it gets good flow from startup.
@@DecimalTenths after hearing some minor rattling on cold starts, I decided to take the new set off after only 200kms. What I noticed is that the chain became really "stiff" and if it seized somehow. Now I don't know what to do. I ordered another set, maybe the chain was faulty or maybe there is another problem with oil preassure. I installed a 1.8t oilpump and a bolt on oil Filter housing from a fsi first gen. Only checked the oil preassure once before starting the car since IT was a complete rebuild, the oil preassure was building up to around 2.5 bar at starting (without ignition)
Newbie diy'er here with a mk5 and I just did the thermostat myself, you're not kidding XD Alternator, throttle body piping, tensioner/serp belt and charcoal cannister all off. Then it's still super tight and fiddly with the piping to the thermostat. 200,000km engine and hopefully that never needs to be done again. Loving your mk5 series, learning something new every video. Great video, Do you have many people that come in with the mk5 golf gtis and get the engine changed to the cdl? Looking at doing the ko4 conversion, but just wondering as that engine sounds like it will manage what i want on stock internals.
Hi yes the stock engine will handle a k04 no problem. No need for a CDL
Is tfsi n tsi engines same? Ive got a 2008 a3 1.8 tfsi but the engines gone so i found a engine but from passat 1.8 tsi, you reckon they would fit fine?
TFSI is an Audi brand name. So the same engine in a vw would be called a TSI. Best to check engine codes to confirm they're the same.

1, do you have to unplug the sparks when you fully have everything installed. Can’t I just start the car and let the oil flow through by its self? 2, how and where do you put in the sandwich plate in. 3, where & how do you connect the sandwich plate to the OEM cooler

Very good information especially using VCDS. One thing that I did see is you didn't replace the motor mount bolts. On the Audi with the stretch bolts this is a necessity. Is the VW different?
No they are the same, so "should" be replaced. I didn't on this one admittedly as first of all it's mine.., and secondly I knew i had to pull them off again a week later as the engine came out to fix a snapped stud

I didn't get a code on this one funnily enough. That code is common though. Logging the cam positions will confirm

Use forged 1.8t rods. 144x20mm ideally.

Nice video! I’m living in the Netherlands and am the proud owner of one of the original 77 Dutch supplied cars. I have done a partly restauration on the car. All rust removed, new brakes, new headliner, new shocks, new windscreen etc. I love the car and I use it very regulary. Distances up to 30 miles from home I use te BRM, also to clients. You really feel the engine comes on cam around 4000 rpm and it is a joy to let it scream to 7000. Man, I’m almost 54 and I feel like I’m in my Mini again at 20. Also a very good long distance cruiser with the very comfy seats in this very thick quality leather which is (dare I say it?) perhaps better quality as in my 2006 Jaguar S-Type with optional executive interior. And if this is stiffer suspension I wonder how comfy the original Vi was. The `torsen diff really let’s it grip in corners. What a great little car! Keep up the good work and many happy miles in yours!

Hi sorry to bother got oil burning in my 18t build, Pitons are Wiseco 82.5 stroke pistons had the machine shop set the wall clearance at .1mm box says .89 will this be the oil problem
Do you mean the paperwork suggests 0.089mm and they've used 0.1mm? That's only half a thou in old money so I doubt very highly that this is your issue. If the paperwork is suggesting the above clearance then the pistons must be something like 2618 aluminium alloy and the gap is for thermal expansion. There's lots more to it including the actual build practices and techniques, how round the cylinders are, how the engine was broke in etc...

When i got my mk6r about 12 months ago i was lucky enough to get a spare CDL complete motor with it. Old owner was told it was stuffed but after a decent inspection it was just a dodgy injector. The CDL thats currently in my mk6r is pretty much at its limit on the stock bottom end. G25-660 just shy of 400bhp on a safe tune. Ive got the spare motor stripped and at the machine shop to get the head and block decked as well as honed and align bored for billet mains. Will be fully forged. ARP studs and bolts. Worked head. Upgrading to either a G30-770 or G30-900. Still discussing that with my tuner. Ecu masters emu black ecu. Mabotech injectors and a IE intake plenum but plans are to switch to port injection later on with meth injection. Boot mounted surge tank. Full flex fuel setup. Stage 3 dsg cluch packs. Im chasing 700bhp. Its not a daily driven car mainly weekends and a bit of roll racing. Will he happy with a low 10sec 1/4 mile pass but im not to focused on drag times to be honest.
I have to do this on my A4 2.0 FSI, but I gotta remove the head because the engine's turned 90 degrees. Wish me luck lol

Hello boss, i have done this. I was reading and teaching lot of stuff to make the job ready, but after the process my Phase position bank 1 intake is 3.0%. Could you guess where the problem is, also there is a little ratteling on idle, if i rev up a bit, the rattle goes away. Thank you mate.
Also if i compared the other values to yours, they are the same. Is it necessery to worm the engine to it? I am kinda worried about the noice on idle, it does not sound like metal to metal, but definetly not something what the engine should do. Thank you again.
How would I know the actuator is set up right without a vac / pressure line pump?
